Vellfire price increased by Rs.4Lakhs, priced now at Rs.83.5Lakhs

|Old Price||New Price||Difference|
|Camry||Rs 37.88 lakh||Rs 39.02 lakh||Rs 1.14 lakh|
|Vellfire||Rs 79.50 lakh||Rs 83.50 lakh||Rs 4 lakh|
Both cars come with Toyota’s 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain. The Camry’s unit develops a combined output of 218PS while the Vellfire’s unit puts out a combined figure of 197PS. That said, the Vellfire’s unit comes with twin electric motors that sit at either axles, making it an all-wheel drive powertrain. The Camry, on the other hand, drives its front wheels only. Both cars can be driven in pure EV mode, pure ICE mode or a combination of both.
The Camry is Toyota’s premium luxury sedan and fights it out with the Skoda Superb TSI. Its main USP is its hybrid powertrain. You can read how it performs in our first drive review right here. The Vellfire is a premium luxury MPV that fights it out with the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. Read our review of the Vellfire right here.
The Vellfire returns a claimed mileage of 16.35km/l, which is exceptional considering the size of the vehicle. Speaking of size, the MPV`s dimension read as 4,935 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and stands 1,895 mm tall with a wheelbase length of 3,000 mm. The Vellfire features a ground clearance of 165mm.
The price hike is significant but is not likely to be a strong deterrent to the target audience. So, we don’t expect this move to affect the volume projections for both the products. While Camry Hybrid is positioned as a more spacious and cheaper alternative to the German luxury sedans, the Vellfire targets large affluent families and premium hospitality and tourism sectors. Toyota says that both the models have been receiving overwhelming response ever since they were introduced in India.
